Why does the body heat up when in a state of extreme relaxation?

I’ve noticed that when I meditate, and I am able to get to a deep level of relaxation, my body tends to heat up. It’s a pleasant and even more relaxing feeling. Why does the body do that?

Im no doctor but believe it has to do with lack of oxygen. When you relax your breathing slows. Im not sure what the lack of oxygen in the blood does exactly. I know that also as u relax your heart rate slows to. And the way your body cools is by running your blood through the veins close to the skin and perspiration. So the lack of blood flow may allow heat to build up causing the warm feeling.
