I have a recertification test coming up and although I know all what I need to know-it never fails I get half way through and my mind goes blank! What do you do to get over this anxiety?

Actually, I have two: prayer and rest.
I process LOTS of information while I’m sleeping, making sense of things that seemed all jumbled when I was awake.

This is a technique called grounding:

You experience your environment either verbally or in your head. Tell yourself the smells you smell, the sound you hear, the colors you see, the textures you feel. For example:

I see the drab egg white color of the walls. I hear the hum of the airconditioner above my head. I can feel the firm give in the foam of my chair as I sit. I can feel the smooth vinyl of my arm rest. I can smell the oil scent coming from the nearby elevator. etc.

Do so for about 5-10 minutes.

Buy some hemi-sync Cds - the alpha brainwave state- when listend to through earphones they entrain the brain into relaxation using a technique called brainwave entrainment and its effortlessly simple.kind of lick an aural tranquilizer. It works formost people , and the more you use it the better it gets. Google it. There is also plenty of research evidence and clinical testing to backit all up. Mp3 it at a low compression for the ipod generation.

What I use to relax is usually turn on techno music and squeeze the life out of a stress ball. It always works for me, should work for anyone else.
